  1. The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations released a report on the Edible Insects.
Americans have long seen the act of eating insects like a taboo– But a recent study suggests that insects can be more than a "famine" and eaten when food is scarce. Many people around the world eat insects out of choice, largely because of the palatability of the insects and their established place in local food cultures.

  2. A lot of people hate insects, but they eat better (they are the primary consumers in the food chain) than pigs or birds that are in our diary diet.
The organisms of these edible animals represents between 60 and 70 per cent of proteins. The fat of insects is beneficial to the human organism, they have a low level of choresterol, they contain mineral salts, some are rich in calcium and magnesium and they contain importants amounts of B vitamins.
I would not eat insects because they disgust me, even studies say that they are healthy.

Insects are a very attractive product, with a high content of proteins, minerals and vitamins. They have a high contribution in fiber and fat that has, which is low, is a healthy fat. Therefore, FAO recommended that we investigate in their consumption, both for humans and for use in feed. Unfortunately, in Spain, it is unthinkable for cultural issues and possible disgust that we can give, however, on other sites, is considered a delicatessen.

Eating insects is a good idea although they aren't as appetizing as other food: insects are very abundant on earth: there are about 200 millions of insects per inhabitant. On the other, edible insects are high quality food for humans, birds, fish and farm animals. They are very healthy and nutritious and they also have proteins, fats and micronutrients. This means insects could end world hunger, so…¿why are them so discounted?

  6. A lot of people don't eat insects because insects are repulsive for them. But, if we cook insects in the well way, they can be delicious. And they have a lot of nutrients, so they are very healthy. At present, there are about 500 species of worms, wasps, snails and other insects that have a lot of proteins components and chemical subtances which are very beneficial for our metabolism.
I don't eat insects, because I hate them. In my opinion, they are very repulsive.

  7. Eating more insects could help fight world hunger, boost nutrition and reduce pollution. It notes than over 2 billion people worldwide already supplement their diet with insects. Wasps, beetles and other insects are currently "underutilised" as food for people and livestock. Insect farming is "one of the many ways to address food and feed security". They are nutritious, with high protein, fat and mineral content.
I think that they are disgusting, but they could save us in a critical situation.

  8. Insects are part of the diet of more than 2,000 million people worldwide, a figure that should not be surprising given the nutritional properties of this type of living beings. They usually have a lot of protein very similar to that of meat and fish, many B vitamins and minerals such as calcium or phosphorus. For example, grasshoppers are insects that provide many vitamins to the body. Insects could be a means to end hunger in many cultures. I don't eat them, but in critical situations rotted save us.

A lot of people from different places don´t eat insects because they are unpleasant and also they are digusted.
The truth is that these insects have a high nutritional value and can be an alternative against world hunger. But what in other areas of the planet is a millenarian gastronomic habit (Mexico, Thailand ...), in Spain and other Western countries is a steep culture shock.

Most Europeans hate insects. But some American, Asian, African and Australian eat them because of their cultures. People who don´t eat insects think they are not a good food, but they are wrong. Insects have proteins, vitamins, minerals and fats. For example, a grasshopper has a 20% of proteins, almost the same as a filet of beef, which have a 27%.
For my taste, insects are repulsives and I don´t eat them.

  11. Insects generally have a high efficiency in the conversion of food, its high level of reproduction makes the most nutrients from their environment to convert them into proteins, vitamins, fat, etc. Some insects produce proteins faster than other animals that provide meat for humans. That is why some food agencies are thinking that the insects could be the main source of protein in the food of the future. For my taste, insects are disgusting and I don`t eat them.

And apart from this they are very accessible for the people who haven’t got much money, but in my opinion they aren't very nice like food.

Then is good to eat insects and also helps us not to kill other animals and if we can just keep eating the food of another animal

  19. It seems to me that worms and insects are repugnant, but despite this when we eat products in the environment as fruits, vegetables... carry insects and worms although they have cast them with insecticides, but some of them manage to not die and end mind passed to our body. So I do not think so bad that other countries have incorporated insects and worms in their diet.

  20. Some insects may already be in your food (and this is no fly-in-my-soup joke). Demand for natural food coloring as opposed to artificial dyes is increasing, the agency's experts say. A red coloring produced from the cochineal, a scaled insect often exported from Peru, already puts the hue in a trendy Italian aperitif and an internationally popular brand of strawberry yogurt. Many pharmaceutical companies also use colorings from insects in their pills.

  23. In some cultures is considered something strange eating insects. The people in some parts of the words, like México or Asia, eat them because they contain a lot of nutrients, such as proteins, vitamins and minerals. Many species of them have as much protein as meat. Apart, this can be a solution of the hunger in the world, because their production is faster and cheap. I think insects can help us to lead a healthy diet.
